Our Story
Denise and I have lived in Nelson County for over 18 years, having raised our children in this wonderful place. But that does not tell the whole story of our connection to the area. We fell in love with Nelson in the 90’s when we spent a few years living on Glenthorne Loop and working at Wintergreen Resort. Life took us to Western North Carolina for a decade before bringing us back home. Denise’s father and grandparents were born and raised in Nelson and though neither of us had that privilege, we are happy to say that our children have been spoiled with the experience.
As long time residents of Nelson County, we have seen the growth around tourism and are intimately familiar with the special needs of the area. We hope to help with events planned months in advance as well as those that present themselves abruptly. Did the weather change to a downpour over graduation weekend? We have you covered! Is there a heat wave in June or cold spell in May? We have air conditioners, heaters, tents and sidewalls to get you through. Are you short 5 tables and 30 chairs? We are new and nimble and eager to help.
Though our careers have been in corporate America, we have over 20 years of experience in the tent rental space. This experience began in the 90’s as we worked our way through college and has followed us intermittently throughout life. Our hope is to build something for the local community and we offer free delivery and set up in Nelson County. We also serve Albemarle, Charlottesville, Augusta, Waynesboro, Amherst, Lynchburg and beyond.
Frequently Asked Questions

Will you be serving food under the tent?
Do you need room for a dance floor, bar(s), stage, or anything else other than tables and seating?
We are happy to arrange a free virtual consultation to confirm tent size requirements and the amount and type of needed open space.

Frame tents are more versatile than pole tents. They can be set up pretty much anywhere, with rope-free base plates anchored by stakes or simply with sand bags or water bags keeping them secure.
The biggest drawback of frame tents is that they are more difficult to set up compared with pole tents. Their rigid frames need to be lifted off the ground and set atop poles, requiring more labor. They tend to involve more parts and are generally heavier and more difficult to move.
Pole tents use a simple tension method with outward pressure pulling the tent poles into standing position. Ropes are staked into the ground to anchor the poles. Center poles are set up in the middle areas of the tent, raising the canopy so it’s taut.
Pole tents are easy to set up, so long as they're anchored correctly. It should be noted however that in most cases, you won’t be able to stake a pole tent onto concrete or asphalt, which does limit their usability.
-
Larger Pole Tents require 10' (or more) space than the size of the tent. For example, a 40' x 60' Pole Tent requires a 50' x 70' area and an open grassy space without trees, bushes, or anything obstructing the setup area.
Frame Tents require 4’ or more space than the size of the tent. For example, a 20' x 20' Frame Tent requires at least 24' x 24' in space. The intended space should be an open grassy area without trees, bushes or other obstructions.
